Sick....

I've got a cold...

Stoopid husband gave it to me as he's been off sick last Friday and Monday, now I've got it and work sent me home today and told me they didn't want me back until Thursday.

I guess all the sniffling, sneezing and coughing didn't do it for them eh!

haha

at least I can sleepin tomorrow and have a fire, dog and cat to keep me warm ;) if only I didn't have a head cold....

Over it.....

Watch out I'm in that mood again.... that itchy-I'm-over-everything-and-something-has-to-change-and-something-soon type of feeling....

Last time I felt like this I brought a second house.

Time before that I got married.

and the time before that I brought our first house....

I guess it will get better once this whole formal consultation for the work 'realingment' is over, its just SO FRUSTRATING as no one (including myself) just has no motivation to do anything at work. Everyone is just kinda waiting until its over and we can start moving forward - not that my role has changed at all.... HURRY UP AND LETS GET ON WITH IT.

Just really waiting now until the 7 week holiday next year.... sigh....

JUST OVER EVERYTHING

Must be coming into winter

ANZAC weekend....

Went away to Tauranga for a wedding over ANZAC weekend... lots of travelling involved...

Thursday after work drove to Napier and stayed the night with Mum.... Left the dog behind so Mum could dogsit - handy ;)

Friday early in the am left Napier for Tauranga - wedding was at 3pm so wanted to get there around lunch to relax for an hour and then get ready.

Great wedding ;) Photo's to come...

Saturday had brunch at the newlyweds house then cruised back to Napier.

Stayed the night, picked up the dog, caught up with both sides grandparents and then travelled back to Wgtn.

Long trips ;) Lucky we travel so well....

PS - needing $10K to run the netball club this year - any takers?

Must be netball season...

Yep first game (pre-season tournament) of the season and you guessed it - the rain did fall (horizontal even), the wind did blow and the southerly did punish.

Brrrr - talk about cold.

Bloody cold even. Especially when you've been saturated with a downpour at 8.30am in the morning.

But on the bright side most of my girls won their games which means they might get graded quite nicely. Anywho - I guess we'll see when the season starts proper in two weeks.

Also had my first indoor game in 2 years with Matt's work team on Sunday. Bit of fun combined with a bit of frustration at their lack of skills. Nice to play with Matt again and have Fi (wife of matt's ex workmate) with some netball skills down the other end. Had a great hit the deck moment when matt moved into my space and I hit the floor quite heavily - gotta lose those kilos to make for a softer landing! (no jokes about the extra padding please!)

But will be back - we'll see how long I last without getting too frustrated ;)

Green Eyed Monster....

I'm jealous of Marea and Dan Verry.... they are into Day 4 of their Red Baron travels and I'm jealous already!

Well not of the 4 days of no shower and portapotti but still jealous...

Can't wait until May next year - and who knows - might be able to persuade hubby that a longer stay is needed ;)

anywho for those wanting to check out there blog...

For want of another word......

I have no idea what to name this post as I don't really know what its going to be about...

I've been terribly slack at updating this lately so thought I'd better put something up for the odd 2 or 10 of you that actually read this thing...

So been pretty busy the last week with yep netball again - I can tell you that the previous club captain was USELESS and it took me all day to organise the exisiting paperwork into something that resembled an Accounts Payable folder and a general day to day running of the club folder...

Over the last two weeks I have now become more than sufficient in all things related to IRD Witholding Tax for employees, becoming an employer, Incorporated Societies, Staff contracts for non profit societies and general day to day financials (grandad would be proud). What a nightmare. Did I mention that my (new) Treasurer quit on me the day after she became our Treasurer..... Yep a Jack of all trades I'm becoming....

For better or poorer we are yet to see ;)

Bright side of the club I seem to be the popular choice for being club captain! And getting lots of support from club players which is nice.

The Senior half of the club have their first grading day tournament this weekend - normally they have a 4 week window where you play one game a week and depending on the outcome of the 4 weeks you get graded into a grade (funny that). This year they are trialling a one day tournament prior to the season starting to sort the grades first and then move straight into 3 rounds of round robin with promotion/relegation at the end of each round.

Sounds promising - yet to be seen. The Netball Wellington Centre really isn't doing that well this year - was kinda a fiasco last year and they hired this new person to take over but seriously - I could be doing better than how it is run at the moment. If only the job was paying more and I would've seriously thought about applying for it last year.

Anywho looking forward to that this weekend - will be nice to mosey around and see all the senior teams - some of them are looking quite good.

~~~~
On the job front we are still working through our 'realignment'. She with Malcolm have gone through our job descriptions and we now have them to comment on - not quite on the formal consultation side of it but nearly there. I have no opinion of work anymore - I tried once and they didn't listen so I'm now just there to pay the bills, save for my Holiday next May, and then back to paying the mortgages. Guess I should start looking at starting a family but next year but will wait to see what the body clock says after the holiday ;)
My money is on putting kids off further to enjoy life a bit more as double income no kids family ;) (no offence to those with kids - just the clock is not ticking for us!)... I wonder if we'll end up being the babysitters since we have no kids of our own!! (god forbid).
~~~~~

Husband, Dog and Cat are great. Cat antagonises Dog, Dog antagonises Cat, Husband watches the vicious circle ;) quite hilarious.

Righto that's about all - not much about a lot of crap. Must take some more photo's to put up for those who like looking at pretty pics...

Oh and real tragedy for those 7 victims who lost their life canyoning at Sir Edmund Hillary's OPC in Mangatepopo Gorge - I did that exact same thing about 15 years ago and it kinda hits home. What a freak accident.

Love to all out there...

Peace out.

Dark Ages no more.....

Yep back on Broadband

I couldn't cope.... well actually that's a lie - I needed it for the new role I've taken on -yep you've guessed it - I'm now officially Wellington East's Netball Club's new Club Captain. Doh.

How'd that happen....

Well - it kinda went like this....

1) I resigned from Club Committee 2 days before AGM (25th March)

2) Current Club Captain resigns on night of AGM (27th) March - effective immediately even though her contract is for another year....

3) I can't contemplate leaving the club without a club captain taking care of the club so I take over as Club Captain.

on the condition that the club pay for broadband of course (not that we (club) have any money but hey if they need a club captain and they want me to do the job then the can pay for my internet bills).

So long story short - I'm back on line. Just means I have to actually do something online instead of facebooking, blogging and surfing ;)

oh well!

But ultimately it means that my life is basically NETBALL NETBALL NETBALL and oh NETBALL.....

but I get $5,200 a year for it - that'll help the holiday next year - shame its taxed so high - grrrrr - tempting to almost vote National ;) Surely they can't revoke the interest free Student Loans or KiwiSaver surely????

Love to all those that wished me a Happy Birthday - had a really nice day ;) and love to all those that keep gently reminding me that I haven't been updating my blog - not my fault that work ban facebook and blogs! But I'm back ;)

Peace out....

Dark Ages.......

Right...

We've gone back to the dark ages and given up our landline and Broadband to save money for our Europe trip next May..... sigh the things we do...

that and I was sick of Telecom ripping us off all the time...

SO

Effective Wed 27th February we are only contactable on our cells and work phones.... I won't give them out over the net so if you haven't got them - tough.

Screw you Japan - scientific whaling - riiiiiiiight......

Peace out.

Muggy.....

Am I living in Wellington?

I seem to have transported to a different city with this late summer weather we are having - its all very twilight zone...

do do do do, do do do do.....

Can it get any muggier?

It's 10pm on Sunday night and I have every window in the house open, the back door and the sliding doors open and there isn't a drop of wind. I've even resorted to pulling out the free standing fan and having that going in the lounge to try and cool down.

If you even think about moving you break into a sweat!

SO MUGGY

Its gonna be a nightmare trying to sleep tonight.... Times like this you wish you didn't have a husband radiating heat next to you....

Guess I'd be whinging if it was cold ;)

Rock on.

These boots are made for walking?.....

well maybe around the office only ;)

hahahahahaha

me and my boots... love it.
~~~~
Oh and I'm watching you :) Stealing from a Smith sisters post I have joined up to Google Analytics for my blog - its very cool - I have had people check out my blog from several places including all around NZ; two from Melbourne; two cities in UK plus one in the States (who that is I have no idea?).
haha - I never knew I was so loved - especially when 5 of you checked me out on Valentines Day - feel the love...
Peace out.
Return of friends.....
Well what an exciting week for return of friends......
First we get a phonecall early in the week from our good friend Jono who lives in the UK saying he's going to be back next week for a few weeks on a wee break. Can't wait to catch up with him, and then he says he and his lovely lady friend Sam (yet to be introduced) are coming back for good at the end of the year - yay!
Then I bump into Ange and Paul within an hour of them landing in NZ - small country eh.
Then today Kath finds out she got the Adventure Travel job in Wellington - would you believe its only 200meters away from my work! Bigger picture is that she is moving to Wellington in less than 4 weeks!!! Yay yay yay - can you believe that its been 10 years since we both lived in the same city together - crazy....
I wonder what tomorrow will bring.....
Modern marriage.....
Is this the way of the world nowadays?
My husband and I have fallen into this horrible habit of sorting out the comings and goings in our lives. In the old days you used to talk to each other about what you were doing, what time dinner was etc....
Now we send meeting requests to each to each other via Outlook mail.
How sad is that. But it works. I can see what Matt has planned, he can see what I have planned. We can plan something else just by checking our Outlook calenders. I can even download it into my phone so I can check that.
Some people have pictures on the fridge, we have - yep you guessed it - a month planner and a year planner. One of those neat whiteboard ones that last FOREVER..... ;) just wipe away that month and start again ;)
Handy to update and check when one arrives home to an empty house...
and its only February.
I repeat - Is this the way of the world nowadays?
~~~~
But at any rate Sage for her first ever swim in the weekend...... went with a workmate and her dog. I think the photo's say it all....

Velvet Brown....

Ooops - I did a Britney.....

~ Nope didn't marry a backupdancer.

~ Nope didn't get pregnant twice.

~ Nope didn't get divorced then have my life spiral out of control...

~ Nope I didn't shave my hair off....

But yes I did go Brunette.........Velvet brown to be exact...

Keeping blonde was just a little bit expensive in a year where I want to save 20G for a holiday ;)

First day survived with a surprisingly amount of positive comments - even guys noticed! I mean c'mon, men noticing a hair colour - I guess something drastic like going from Blonde to Brunette would actually them notice. And all of them said they liked it better than blonde - Really????

Anyway final decision of change pending - the blonde in me isn't that easy to get rid off. At least I think this colour will stay longer than my mousey brown 5 days last year ;)

Fun weekend....

We had a FUN weekend just been.....!

....not only for the fact that it was a break from the first week back to work, but that we did two things that we never normally do.
Saturday night we went to the Speedway. I haven't been to the speedway since I was a kid!
Fun!
It was the perfect weekend to go as Te Marua Speedway had a $10,000 fireworks display and a demolition derby at the end of normal racing.

Fun!
Sunday we went to the Central Golden Retreiver Club Dogs Day out in Titahi Bay. Not only did Sage get to play with lots and lots and lots of other Golden Retreievers, but she also got to play at being a show dog, agility dog and meet a couple of her brothers, sisters and cousins.
Sage being followed by a small puppy
Fun!

Anyway here are some pics of our Fun weekend - well actually the fun Sunday cause I didn't take my new cool very expensive camera to the speedway.

Sage learning how to be Show Dog (her cousin to the left of the pic and her show dog sister to the right)

Sage very satisfied at the end of a Fun Weekend!

Au Revoir Sir Edmund Hillary.....

1919 ~ 2008

I wish I had something deep and meaningful to say about one of New Zealand's most famous personalities.

I don't.

Au Revoir - may you rest in peace.
